The Kabylie region of Algeria is broken but still stands
The northern region of Algeria called "Kabylia", a densely populated area mainly inhabited by "Kabyle people" (A dialect of the Imazighen), is known to be one of the locomotive regions of the country in all aspects for centuries, a cultural, natural and historical region in northern Algeria. It is part of the Tell Atlas mountain range, and is located at the edge of the Mediterranean Sea. Kabylia covers at least 3 provinces of Algeria: Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia, and Bouira. Gouraya National Park and Djurdjura National Park are also located in Kabylia.
The main spoken language by over 8 million people is "Taqvaylit", which is a dialect of "Tamazight".
The 3rd wave of the COVID-19 "The Delta strains" had taken hundreds of lives caused by the lack of the medical oxygen, the medication, the number of beds in hospitals, and the needed medical material. The government could not cope of the number of people contracting the virus, which lead to people in towns and villages to form groups and associations to face the threat by collecting money and whatever hospitals needed from their own money. The Algerian community around the world, the Kabyle in particular collected millions of euros in money and material to support the affected communities in the country.
On Monday 09th of August, dozens of bush fires started appearing near town and villages in the Kabylie region at the same time while the temperatures were reaching the 46 degrees, and even reported 50 degrees in some areas. It looked like the end of the world.
While people were struggling to put their hands on the medical oxygen due to COVID-19, here they are now not being able to get even the natural oxygen in the air. Hospital patients were evacuated by the villagers, entire villages were evacuated, some were reduced to ash.
42 lives were lost as of now.
The Kabylie region needs your help to get through this difficult situation.
