This unique Kabyle/Berber hand of fatima Brooch is purely handmade by an Algerian artisan using pure silver 950, mediterranean red coral and colourful enamel. You sometimes get imperfections in their jewellery; that is because they are done separately by hand; which gives it the real sense of the Handmade. It could take them hours to make one single piece of art such as this one. It is made with passion and love to the culture. The artisans are only using pure products.
Meaning of Hand of Fatima:
The Khamsa or Hamsa, (in Hebrew: “Khamsa” in Arabic: Hamsa means “five”) is an icon in amulets, charms, and Jewellery, to protect against evil eyes.
An Islamic alternative name for this charm : “Eye of Fatima or the hand of Fatima” , regarding to Fatima Zahra, Prophet Muhammad’s daughter. The other meaning in Jewish is Miriam’s hand , as regards Miriam, the sister of Aaron and Moses. It is a sort of “protection of the hand” or “The hand of God“.
It symbolizes also the five books of the Torah to Jews and the Five Pillars of Islam for Sunni Muslims.
In recent years, several peace activists in the Middle East, have chosen to wear resistance Hamsa the symbol of the origin and the similarities between the Jewish and Islamic tradition. The fingers may point up or down.

Azul fellawen Cela fait quelques semaines que j'ai découvert ce site berbére et c'est presque chaque jour que je rentre pour l'exploiter de plus en plus. Ce que j'ai aimé dans ton site Hacene est le fait que tu as inclus un peu de tout : la poésie, l'histoire, les traditions,........etc .De penser a inclure : les sites, les travaux, accomplies par les autres ma beaucoup touché, car cela prouve ta bonne foie de vouloir valoriser et rendre connu tout ce qui a rapport avec nous les berberes. Je t'encourage a perseverer Hacene et de y aller plus loin avec ca. My order was shipped promptly and I was happy with the quality of it, however I don't feel the packaging was adequate for an overseas / airmail package. I always felt confident that this business offered a personal service and that I could contact Mr.Hacene should I require any help. Improvements I would like to suggest are: - that more specific measurements are added to items, so customers can know exactly what to expect as this makes the shopping process easier - that overseas shipments are packaged more securely / adequately to prevent damage to items - that more stock such as women's jewellery items from the Chaoui region could be added. In conclusion I would like express great happiness in finding an English language business that offers North African products such as those from Kabylia.
