Ath Semlal, my beautiful Kabyle village

Ath Semlal; my beautiful Kabyle village

Ath Semlal, Bouzeguene, AzazgaThe village of Ath Semlal is one of 24 villages of the municipality of Bouzeguène , it is located approximately 2.6 km from the center of it and 30 km from Azazga .

This small village of about 700 inhabitants stands at the top of the W251 road but do not worry, a small road will help you get to the top of this little Eden and may greatly enjoy breathtaking views overlooking the other villages and the magnificent mountains of Ath Zikki especially in winter when dressed with snow !

Previously, being part of the village of Ait Ferrache , this small mountainous region was a refuge for many families fleeing the terror during the beginning of the war in Algeria but unfortunately from 11/11/1957 it was its turn to be affected by the French attacks in leaving martyrs in different families and also revealing fighters and heroes, like Mohand Ou Lounis Rachedi, who also terrorized the French colony. The man was nicknamed " White - White " and for whom the newspaper Le Soir d' Algerie of 23-24/11/2012 paid tribute to his " bravery and his unspeakable deeds worthy of a "Rambo of Akfadou "

Ath Semlal, Bouzeguene, AzazgaIt was not until 1981 that this part separates from the village Ait Ferrache and officially recognized as one of the villages of the municipality , it consists of three main families: Rachedi , Snacel and Karour and each is divided into different agroum or Hara .

Despite being considered one of the smallest villages in the region due to its small number of inhabitants, yet it stands like any other village in the Kabyle culture, great spirit of solidarity and wealth represented by the new generations show handily over in different areas , cultural association , tajma3th and village beautification work .

Ath Semlal, Bouzeguene, AzazgaThis show of solidarity extends even beyond the borders ( France , Canada) where immigrants are represented by a group that is in charge of collecting money used primarily for the repatriation of the deceased people's bodies and the support of their families but also to organize parties where everyone can meet.
